I got home late Wednesday night and, while microwaving some leftover soup, scanned my basic-cable TV channels for something to watch. Mythbusters was over and the Seinfeld repeat was one I had seen too many times. I was desperate for something to watch. Then I lucked onto an interesting show on the local cable access channel, BITV. It's called "Energy Choices for Bainbridge Island," about how islanders are taking large and small steps to improve our environment. I was really drawn in by the people who installed passive solar heating and by the guy at the end who is using photoelectric panels on his roof to generate an average of 16 kilowatt hours per day in the summer and six in the winter.
I also really enjoyed the format. Youths were asking questions in a roundtable format (the default UU setting, I think), which were then answered by experts.
I wish I had seen it from the beginning. Thanks the the repetitive nature of BITV, I can and you can, too! Here's the show's schedule to set your VCR/DVR by:
